Still have to walk the dog. Getting started walking is sometimes a pain in the ass. Overcoming my inertia. Getting enough energy to leave my own gravity well. But once I get walking, I usually like it. Besides, it's good for ya. And I had too much left over cheesecake today. I couldn't throw it away! That is a sin. I think I'll get rid of the 10th commandment (don't covet thy neigbor's wife. Yah right. If she's hot, what's the problem with a little coveting?)and make it Thou shalt not waste cheesecake!

Not that I'm a christian or anything. I try to live a good life because I think it's right, not because of fear of eternal damnation or the reward of salvation. I ain't perfect, but I haven't done anything that keeps me awake at night.

I should download and use one of those journal updating clients. If anybody actually reads this and has any idea which one would be good to use, let me know.

I dig that stuff. He sings it real well too.

ok, off to walk the hound.

Ok, so they weren't falling stars, they were actually meteor showers, but I was being vaguely poetic.

The stars I am referring to are the the Lyrid meteor showers. They peaked this evening, tween 3am and dawn. Downtown Chico is rather full of light pollution, so I couldn't see much there. I stopped over by the grassy area near the mansion and watched from the middle of that. Was still lot of light, but I saw two. Better than nothing.

Downtown Chico at about 3am is pretty empty. It's cool. Like many zombie movies or and old movie called Night of the Comet. Considering the source of the Lyrid meteor shower, that movie is more appropriate. In my initial walk through downtown, I saw a few people still leaving bars, but when I came back through on my way home, I saw nobody. I did hear a few voices, but I never saw their source. Some sort of city fey, perhaps.

Oh, and when I first walked through, two cop cars came blasting through, sirens blasting. A few minutes later, another city cop and a sheriff came flying through. I heard more sirens heading north. Eventually, it sounded like they headed eastish, like they were on the freeway. Wonder if it was a chase of some sort.

It's 3:30. I think maybe I can sleep now.
