I want my robot slaves, damnit!
Jan. 3rd, 2005 10:01 pmI've been reading science fiction since I was a wee lad. One thing I know from all that reading I've done is that by this time, 2005, we are supposed to have robots and other machines that do all the work and us humans get to live a life of total leisure.
This has not come about. It seems the opposite is happening. At least for Americans. We are working more hours than we used to. This sucks. My job especially sucks cause I *KNOW* it's total drudgery and dronework, 90% of which could be done by the computer I work on everyday.
I suppose us biological slaves are easier to produce and maintain than the robot slaves would be.
