LJ fan communities, wtf?

I just finished watching the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica and wanted to see what other people thought of it.

I searched for galactica communities. There are a bunch. Started looking them over and find there is very little discussion of the show but tons of posts that consist of screen capture icons and things like that.

I didn't realize how ... obsessive some people are about their icons. I find it kind of odd.
