Drop the chalupa!
May. 6th, 2008 08:57 pmThe other day, after I dropped off the rent check on my lunch break, I decided to stop by Taco Bell for a couple double decker tacos. I don't do fast food very often anymore, but I occasionally get a hankering for some Taco Bell.
I had the crack monkey dog along and I was surprised when I got in the car with my bag of tacos and the dog didn't react to them at all. Usually he'd be sniffing em up and acting like he just knew I got them for him. But he totally ignored the bag.
Near our house is an old style butcher that sells bags of beef bones for 4 bucks each. I figured since the dog was being so good I'd get him one of those bags.
I park the car, go in the store, buy the bag and am walking back out of the store in about 15 seconds. I'm parked right in front of the place too.
I look in the car and I see the hound with his nose down on the floor mat, chewing as fast as he can. On one of my tacos. His laid back attitude towards the bag had been a fake out. He must have been planning his taco assault from the moment I got in the car with the bag.
In 15 seconds he got to the bag, pushed the plastic bag open enough to get access, unwrapped a taco and ate half of it.
He immediately dropped it when I came back out.
He was very happy when he saw the bag of bones too.
Unfortunately I don't think they give refunds on the bones or I would have taken em back.
