I don't have many friends. I think growing up as an army brat and moving every year or two caused me to be a major introvert. I eventually gave up on making new friends and just dragged my books around. I knew I could always count on having those friends with me.

As a result, I don't tend to have many friends, but some of my best buddys are the ones I used to game with every weekend. Yes, I said used to, because we don't anymore. We mention it sometimes, but due to marriages, kids and jobs with conflicting schedules we never seem to get into the swing of it. A portion of the group though, along with a couple other guys, meet every other friday and play poker, and that's damn near as good.

The reason it's nearly as good is because when we played DnD or Shadowrun or Champions we spent hours just bullshitting with each other, cracking jokes and stuff like that. We occasionally would even get together to game and end up not even playing, just spend most of a saturday sitting around a table catching up on stuff.

That's what our poker night is like. We sit around a table, play cards (nothing is wild, cause that's frat boy shit) and rip on each other. Nothing and nobody is off limits when it comes to poker night. If it might get a laugh, it gets said. Tonight we ended up having to look up the domain name www.ratemyballs.com because of a comment I made. Really, you had to be there. I don't even remember the exact comment but it about had a couple of the guys passing out from lack of oxygen they were laughing so much. Turns out that ratemyballs.com is already owned by somebody, more's the pity.

But we do play poker, not just make fun of anything and everything. Mostly we play Texas Holdem but we also get in few games of Jacks or better 5 card draw, 7 card stud and sometimes 7 card no peek. I don't care much for that last one though. We play with 6 dollar buy in which gets you 5 bucks in chips and puts a dollar in the high card of the night pot. There were 5 of us playing tonight and I won the high hand pot with a full house, aces over kings, I think it was. I also ended up 3 bucks over my 5 dollar buyin so my total winnings for the night was 8 bucks. Yah baby.

We don't do much bluffing cause for our nickel ante games somebody is almost always willing to not let you buy the pot and they'll call you, but it's still a ton of fun. I hadn't played for several months and I had forgotten how much fun it was. Especially when I win :D
